Rui Wang  王睿

 

Rui Wang (Ray), originally from Lanzhou, China, is a young photographer who has traveled to over ten countries in search of creative inspiration. Through his lenses, he has captured a variety of stunning images, including breathtaking landscapes of Mount Fuji, captivating portraits of Burmese nuns, and detailed close-ups of San Francisco seagulls. He has also been honored to photograph weddings for his friends.
Ray's passion for photography began in high school when he tried his father's camera to capture a stunning image of Yamdrok Lake. This experience revealed the magic of photography to him as he discovered that bringing the camera closer to the water could enhance the beauty of the waves. His still-life photo was also published in the school magazine, which boosted his confidence in his skills. 
During his undergraduate years at the University of Nottingham, Ray taught himself basic shooting and processing techniques. He spent countless afternoons exploring his campus and capturing stunning images of leaves, then learned to enhance with software. During his two years living in Japan, he invested in two SLR cameras and several lenses to further explore more advanced shooting techniques. The continuous improvement in the quality of his photos only fueled his passion for photography, ultimately leading him to pursue a career as a photographer.

Ray graduated with a Photography MFA 2023 from the Academy of Art University.
